Imax® Gold Liquid Tapewormer Broad Spectrum Wormer and Boticide for Horses

SIZE: 50mL and 100mL.

Ivermectin 10mg/mL & Praziquantel 75mg/mL

Imax® Gold Liquid has been formulated for administration by oral drench or stomach tube  One low- volume dose is effective against important internal parasites, including tapeworms and the arterial stages of bots.

Imax® Gold, when used at the recommended dose level of 200µg ivermectin per kilogram live weight and 1.5mg praziquantel per kilogram live weight, controls the following parasites of horses:

Tapeworms, large strongyles, small strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, hairworms,
large mouth stomach worms, neck threadworms, bots, lungworms and intestinal threadworms.

Imax® Gold Liquid is also effective for control of skin lesions caused by summer sores.

The recommended dose is 1mL Imax® Gold Liquid per 50kg liveweight. Imax® Gold Liquid can be given as an oral drench or by stomach tube.

Administration as an oral drench: For administration by this method, an undiluted dose is usually preferred. Clear the horse's mouth of any food material, elevate the horse's head, and using a suitable dosing syringe, deposit the appropriate dose in the back of the mouth.

In order to avoid unnecessary coughing or the potential for material to enter the trachea and lungs, do not use excessive pressure, do not use a large dose volume of diluted Imax® Gold Liquid, and do not deposit the dose in the laryngeal area.

Increased dose rejection may occur if the dose is deposited in the front of the mouth. Keep the horse's head elevated and observe the horse to ensure the dose is retained.

All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention being paid to mares, foals and yearlings. Foals should be treated initially at 6 to 8 weeks of age, and routine treatment repeated as appropriate for the individual property.

Frequency of treatment should be assessed by each property's veterinary adviser considering the number of horses, their age distribution, reproductive status, stocking rate, grazing access, climate and the property's parasite infestation status.

IMAX® Gold Liquid may be used in horses of all ages including mares at any stage of pregnancy provided normal care is taken in handling. Stallions may be treated without adversely affecting their fertility.

Healing of summer sores involving extensive tissue changes may require other therapy in conjunction with Imax® Gold Liquid. Reinfection, and measures for its prevention, should also be considered.
